The whole Oratory met earlier this month for our triennial General Chapter in the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, and our province played host to brothers and companions from all over the world. General Chapter included time for meeting and conviviality and the final days were spent in retreat led by Bishop Jack Nicholls, who has just retired as our Episcopal Visitor.

During General Chapter, Bishop Lindsay Urwin OGS succeeded Fr Peter Hibbert OGS as the Superior of the Oratory; and Fr Nicholas Gandy OGS became our new European Provincial.

The highlight of General Chapter was the Profession Mass, at which brothers from all over the world renewed their commitment to the Oratory life and two brothers made their First Profession, two others renewed their profession for life, and one was clothed as a probationer (novice).

In our own Province, Fr Sebastian Hamilton, a curate in the Diocese of Gloucester, was clothed as a probationer and Fr Dominic Austin Cawdell OGS made his First Profession. Br Ian Watt and Fr Dylan Parry Jones renewed their commitment as probationers and Fr David Johnson OGS and Fr Malcolm Crook OGS renewed their profession.
There is a gallery of photographs from General Chapter below, which show brothers and companions during our time together.
