In a historic first for the Oratory, two brethren were ordained to the priesthood together in St Asaph Cathedral on the Feast of Ss. Peter and Paul last week. Fr Dominic Austin and Fr Dylan (both probationers of the Hawarden College) were ordained at the hands of Bishop Gregory Cameron in the presence of other brethren, and offered their First Masses over the same weekend.

Here is a small collection of pictures from their First Masses – Fr Dylan offered the Mass for the first time in St Meugan’s Church, Llanrhydd and Fr Dominic Austin did likewise in St Martin of Tours’ Church in Llay.
The sermon at Fr Dominic Austin’s First Mass was given by +Dominic OGS who took as his theme some words from Br Roger of Taize:
‘The man who is a priest practises all his life long, listening, sounding the depths. Then he brings liberation to people unbinding on earth the things that will at once be unbound before Christ, and all so as to give people life by the Risen Christ in the Eucharist: Christ our essential love – our first love.’
In the same weekend, Fr Peter Ford OGS, the Senior Brother of the European Province, celebrated his 40th anniversary of ordination in the Cemetery Chapel in Alhaurin el Grande, and is pictured below with Fr Nigel Stimpson, the Chaplain of Costa del Sol East, and Caroline Macfarlane, the Lay Reader.
