At our May Chapter in Alton Abbey, the London & Cambridge College admitted Ian Watts as a postulant of the Oratory. A postulant is someone who has expressed a desire to test their vocation to the life of the Oratory, they receive a copy of the Manual and a senior brother is chosen to help them explore their vocation further. In the same Chapter meeting, Dylan Parry Jones was admitted as a Companion of the Oratory. Companions commit to following a Rule of Life, report to one of the professed brethren, and are invited to join the brethren at Chapter meetings.

While at Alton, the brethren and some companions of the London and Cambridge College, had chance to pray and spend time together, and we discussed three papers:
- ‘My Life as a Companion’ by Pat Riley
- ‘The Old Catholics and Us’ by Michael Bullock, OGS
- and, ‘Neville Figgis, CR: A Friend for Whom we Used to Pray’ by Christopher, OGS
