A New Probationer (November 2017)

At our November Chapter, the London & Cambridge College elected Dominic Cawdell to be a probationer of OGS. He was clothed in the Oratory habit and chose to take the name Br Dominic Austin (in honour of St Augustine of Hippo).

A probationer is someone who has expressed a desire to test their vocation to the life of the Oratory and, under the guidance of another brother, begins to live the Oratory life. Probation normally lasts for two years, although it can be extended and is a time of deepening discernment and formation. For more information on our discernment process, please click here.

Br Dominic Austin (age 22) is a Church in Wales ordinand, training for the priesthood at St Padarn’s Institute in Llandaff. God willing, he will be ordained as a deacon in June 2018 and serve his Title in the Diocese of St Asaph.
