The brethren and companions of the London & Cambridge College met for Chapter in Alton Abbey this week. Although we were only together for twenty-four hours, we had an opportunity to pray and socialise together; the brethren met together in Chapter and we joined together for two lively discussions:
On the first day, Dominic, OGS led a discussion on what fellowship means in the Oratory and offered some practical thoughts on how we could improve our fellowship within and beyond our college.
Then, on the second day, Br Dominic Austin, our probationer, delivered a paper on his academic interest, theological aesthetics, which led to a discussion on the role of beauty in the Christian life.
While in Alton, we joined the Benedictine community for the Daily Offices and Mass and are grateful for their hospitality.
